A Short Programmatic Paragraph
Being, due to its superabundant personal origin, is constituted as a face, or rather a face of faces, vultus vultorum. These faces are patterns of will and knowledge that structure and articulate the many ways in which being is said. Having their origins in persons, any person, even a human person (though at great cost and effort), can wear such a face, and through these faces persons can meet and love and find fulfillment. (These faces are not primarily masks, they facilitate true encounters). The language of humans is through symbols, but the language of the city of gods and men are the very faces and expressions inscribed in being. The sapiential dimension of philosophy can only be understood if we take into account the face-to-face encounter it aims at. Likewise, sapiential philosophy only finds its place in a history that sets it within the vultuary of Being.

For anyone who would like to worship the gods, philosophy shows that every transcendental aspect of experience is divine, a face through which we can meet some One. One does need to wait for hymns or words of tradition: one can turn to the grounds of being at every moment and through them reasonably hope to be addressing divinity.
